Three Tips for Finding the Perfect Wedding Venue in London

January 23, 2018 by Shaznay Logan

On the surface, a wedding can be the happiest event in a person’s life, but it often comes with quite a bit of stress and frustration if the details are not handled with care. From working out a budget to deciding which of the extended family and friends to invite, weddings can quickly become a point of contention for couples.

One of the biggest and most difficult choices is deciding on the right venue for the wedding to actually take place. With so many wedding venues in London, it’s no wonder that many couples often struggle to choose the right location to bring their dream wedding to life. Here are three simple tips to hopefully provide a bit of help and guidance.

Keep the Budget in Mind

Weddings are an extremely costly venture, and the venue can be one of the most expensive items on the budget list. Studies have shown that couples that spend an exorbitant amount of money on their wedding end up with higher rates of divorce. This is because couples often underestimate how much a wedding can cost and often end up spending outside their means. Add in the stress of planning, couples that aren’t careful with their budget end up with lower rates of happiness after the ceremony, and experience trouble in the early part of marriage, when bonding and closeness are the most important.

On the other hand, a prepared couple can take this opportunity to sit down together and discuss exactly how much money should be budgeted on the wedding itself and from there deciding on the specifics of the where, what, and how.

Consider the Size of the Guest List

The second most important thing to consider when choosing a venue is the guest list. Couples planning a wedding need to ask themselves how many people will be attending versus the number of people invited and how large the venue actually is. Not every person invited will show up, but not every venue can accommodate large crowds, and couples planning a huge wedding will need to keep this in mind when deciding which place to reserve for their big day.

When in Doubt, Hire A Professional

There are wedding planners available to hire for a reason. They understand venues well and know best how the spaces can be used to bring a couple’s vision of their marriage to life. Having a wedding planner can take some of the stress of the wedding off the couple as well, giving them more time to worry about other aspects of the marriage. A good planner will help the betrothed every step of the planning process, and the convenience is definitely worth the cost.

At the end of the day what really matters is the happiness of the newlywed couple and that they begin their marital journey on the right foot with minimal stress and debt.

in the planning stages, it’s good to remember what the marriage is all about to begin with and take it easy.
