But, if you dig deep, you will find the true essence of the state. It is different than any other part of the country and is rich in its own traditional and cultural beauty. To understand Chennai from a tourist’s point of view, you need to spend a few days here.

You can easily book Dubai to Chennai cheap flights or any flights, like London to Chennai flights or New York to Chennai flights. Try to be there in mid-January so that you get the great glimpse of their culture through their Pongal celebration. Which are the must-see attractions in Chennai? Have a look-

1. Mylapore

If you are a history buff, then this beautiful historical neighborhood of Chennai will definitely allure you. This is one of the oldest parts of the state which was occupied only by the Brahmins in the ancient age. Once you are here, you can visit the most amazing temple, Kapaleeshwara Temple of Lord Shiva. Besides that, you will also find San Thome Cathedral Church which is the epitome of gothic architecture. If you visit the place before Pongal, you can attend the colorful and vibrant annual festival at Mylapore.

2. Covelong Beach

Chennai means you can enjoy the long coast of Coromandel. The amazing beaches will surely make your vacation exotic. The Covelong Beach is a great tourist attraction for the long coastline, powdery beach, swaying coconut trees and lots of beach activities. You can go for surfing and swimming and also take sunbathe under the warm sun. The beach is not chaotic, so, you can enjoy the serenity of the place. Go to the nearest churches, forts, and mosques and obviously, the crocodile farm.

3. Marina Beach

This is one of the best beach destinations in Chennai. Even, this is one of the longest urban beaches in the world. The combination of the crystal clear sky, deep blue sea, and the silver sand beach is enough to woo tourists. You can go for several beach activities, like surfing, windsurfing, beach volleyball, sunbathing, kite flying, fishing and lots more. The Marina Beach is known for strong current, so swimming is not allowed here.
